Our puppy wellness program is designed to offer your new puppy all the benefits of veterinary services available to provide a healthy start in life. To ensure that your puppy receives complete preventative care to protect against disease, we recommend a series of visits. During these visits, your puppy will receive all vaccinations needed to maintain good health. In addition, a veterinarian will thoroughly examine your puppy to identify any potential problems.
We will also test your puppy for intestinal parasites (worms). Intestinal parasites can cause gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea. They can cause your puppy to become anemic (low red blood cells) and in severe cases even result in death. Performing a fecal test will allow us to treat your puppy with the proper medication for the parasites detected. Although some worms are visible to the naked eye, most worm burdens are diagnosed by examining the stool of your puppy microscopically looking for the eggs.
Because your puppy's health and well-being will depend on more than just vaccinations, we will talk with you about caring for your puppy, training and behavior concerns, and answer any questions you might have about caring for your new family member.
Puppy series visits consist of:
- Comprehensive Physical Examinations
- Intestinal Parasite (worm) Testing and Treatment
- Canine Parvovirus
- Pet owner counseling regarding pet care, housebreaking, nutrition, dentistry, behavior problems and socialization.
